Our Journey

Ecoturbino, designed by Ing. Werner Krenek in 2005, embodies more than 30 years of his expertise as an Instrumentation Engineer. 

His goal was to design and create an innovative water saving and health conscious solution customized for medical centers and hotels in Europe. 

Although many water saving shower systems are available in the market, they tend to drastically reduce water pressure and do not effectively eliminate legionnaire bacteria and biofilm contamination.

The Technology:

Ecoturbino is a precision-designed turbine cylinder made with high quality metal alloys. It includes an air intake port and is fitted at the water outlet of the mixing valve. 

Once the water flow is initiated, the pressure difference in the chamber causes a vacuum to occur drawing air into the water stream via the air inlet. The precision tooling of the water saving adapter mixes an optimum ratio of 60% water and 40% air, allowing for a 40% savings of water and energy. 

The patented design and flow dynamics allows for a high pressure water release at the exit point without compromising the water stream intensity and overall performance. 

Water Intake Port

This is where water enters the Ecoturbino water saving adapter.

Has a Dual Function:

A: Allows Air to enter the turbine when the water supply is turned on.

B: Serves as drainage point for the shower head and hose when the water supply is turned off.

The blended water and air mix, along with associated flow dynamics, generates a high pressure release of the mix of air and water from the outlet point of the water-saving adapter. Thus the shower stream intensity remains unchanged while water, energy and other associated costs are substantially reduced.

 
 
 
 

Healthy Showers

Besides the enhanced water and related energy savings, once the water supply is closed the Ecoturbino water saving adapter air intake valve acts to serve as a drain point to remove water trapped between the hose and shower head. Ecoturbino provides the highest level of Hygiene.

Ecoturbino’s drainage feature keeps the shower head dry, thus limiting the buildup of biofilm, bacteria and other harmful contaminants.

The Ecoturbino shower system is positioned at a standard height of 1 meter from the mixing valve.
